In a press release, Disney again referred to EPCOT’s new festival home as “zone” instead of “center,” confirming that the multi-level festival pavilion project has been canceled.
The festival center was originally announced as part of the EPCOT redesign and was featured in concept art. In July of last year, when many construction projects were postponed or changed due to COVID-19, Disney confirmed they were reworking the World Celebration district, and then began to refer to an “area. festival ”instead of a pavilion.
The “reinvented festival area” will be adjacent to an enchanted garden in the officially launched World Celebration district, which is also home to Spaceship Earth and Creations Shop.
