2020 may be over, but things are not back to normal yet. THR reports that several studios, including Disney Television, CBS Studios, Warner Bros. TV and Universal TV, have chosen to delay production after the holidays due to the growing coronavirus pandemic in LA County. Earlier this week, the LA County Department of Health released a letter asking the film industry to “strongly consider suspending” production for a few weeks due to the increase in COVID-19 cases in the Los Angeles area.
CBS Studios announced the production on NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles and The SEAL team as well as CBS All Access’ Why do women kill and Disney + Diary of a future president which was scheduled to return to production on Jan.4 after their vacation will now resume on Jan.11. Likewise, the series supported by Universal which include NBC Mr. Mayor, Kenan, good girls and Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Upcoming from HBO Max Hacks and the second season of Netflix I have never, and Warner Bros. series All American, Bob Hearts Abishola, B Positive, Call Me Kat, Maman, Shameless and You will also take off the first week of January and is expected to resume production on January 11. All return dates are, of course, tentative and subject to change as Southern California deals with the growing coronavirus epidemic. In the meantime, maybe now is a good time to start broadcasting Bridgerton, because it might be the only new TV you will get for a while.
