BURBANK (CBSLA) – The Walt Disney Co. announced on Friday that it will require all salaried and non-union hourly workers at all of its U.S. sites to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
The company has also started talks about vaccination requirements with employee unions who have collective agreements.

“At The Walt Disney Co., the safety and well-being of our employees during the pandemic has been and continues to be a top priority,” according to a statement from Disney. “To this end, and based on the latest recommendations from scientists, health officials and our own healthcare professionals that the COVID-19 vaccine provides the best protection against serious infections, we demand that all employees salaried and non-unionized schedules in the United States working at one of our sites are fully vaccinated.
“Employees who are not already vaccinated and who are working on-site will have 60 days from today (Friday) to complete their protocols and all employees still working at home will be required to provide a vaccination check prior to their return, with some exceptions. . “
The company also said all new hires should be fully vaccinated before they start their jobs.

Meanwhile, on Friday, Disneyland began requiring all visitors aged 2 and over to wear masks at indoor theme parks, regardless of their vaccination status.
“This includes at the entrance and in many attractions and in closed transport vehicles, including shuttles and buses,” Disney said in an announcement Thursday.
The policy change came as coronavirus cases were on the rise in the United States
