Disney World Removes ‘FastPass +’ From Attraction Board

When Walt Disney World reopened its theme parks to the public in mid-July 2020, several changes were implemented, one of them being the elimination of FastPass +. It has been indicated that it will be a temporary suspension of FastPass + for the time being due to the pandemic. But still, several months after the theme parks first reopened last summer, service has yet to return.

Currently, the official Disney World website states the following regarding FastPass +:

FastPass + selections

Due to the impact of COVID-19 on operations, the FastPass + service is suspended for the time being. FastPass + service is not available with the purchase of annual tickets or subscriptions. We will share future updates at a later date.

Currently, Disney has not indicated when FastPass + will return to theme parks; However, on a recent visit to Magic Kingdom, the visitor to Mitchell Lancaster Park noticed that Space Mountain’s FastPass + sign looked a little different.

In fact, the wording FastPass + has been completely removed from the panel! This queue sign read ‘FastPass + Enter’ in large white print (which you can see in the photo above), but now the sign is completely blank (which you can see in the photo below). ):

At the time of publication, Disney World has given no indication that FastPass + is gone for good, and as mentioned, the official Walt Disney World website still notes that the service is suspended.

This sign of Space Mountain could indicate that Disney intends to change the FastPass + to Space Mountain (or in general) in some way or another, but it could also be a regular maintenance job. that Disney World workers could perform. Maybe they’re even considering using the FastPass + queue space for the regular waiting attractions queue. Or, they may perform maintenance on the FastPass + queue sign to get it in pristine condition before service returns to Disney World theme parks. However, this is all just speculation, and for now we know some guests may be a bit confused by the current signage!

In California, Disneyland also has a FASTPASS system, which will also be temporarily suspended once the theme parks reopen to visitors to the West Coast.
