Do not hate the Porsche Cayenne Coupe for the moment • Gear Patrol

Porsche has unveiled the Cayenne Coupe, a version of the company's largest SUV, featuring a slippery roof line. This shocked online surfers, mainly because it conforms to two boring automotive trends: creating a sloping roofline on everything and expanding the definition of "cut" beyond all meaning. However, the forums must tidy the forks. The Cayenne Coupe will undoubtedly be good.

When BMW is "ridiculed" at the back, it feels bad. In the same way, Mercedes' SUVs clumsily look like Volkswagen beetles. The Cayenne Coupe, on the other hand, is proportional if it is not aesthetic for an SUV. The roofline enhances the Cayenne's standard look and differentiates it from Audi's larger SUVs, which is important because cars share the same engine and platform.

Porsche's goal for the third generation has been to make the Cayenne more similar to the 911. The rear shoulders wide shoulders of the Cayenne should be reminiscent of the 911. It has a shifted wheel and can be ordered optionally with the steering by rear axle and launch control, among other features. The roofline is just another iconic element of the 911 added to the Cayenne, to give it the look of a Porsche.

No sacrilege Porsche has been committed when making a Cayenne coupe. It's a Porsche SUV. Porsche purists did not concede water-cooled engines, let alone SUVs. Adding a last trendy nod with the sloping roofline makes no difference.

More importantly, Porsche will sell a ton of these Cayenne coupes, many of which have strong markup – the turbo starts at $ 130,100. This money offsets R & D costs for less profitable vehicles. The Cayennes pay for the Taycans, special editions of the 911 and other cool objects of the Porsche brand that would not pay their own freight. Do not hate this Porsche, hate the market that required it.
