The trailer Sleep doctor – a follow-up of Stephen King The brilliant – Call the ghost of Stanley Kubrick's original film.
The film is not technically a sequel to this film, but rather based on the novel of the same name published in 2013 by Stephen King. The book, and now the movie, follows an adult Danny Torrence (the kid of The brilliant) when it deals with life (and death). Danny is traumatized by the trauma that he experienced when he was a child. Today, at adulthood, he works in a palliative care center where, with the help of a cat able to predict when a person is about to die and his psychic powers, he comforts to die patients. He eventually teamed up with a psychic girl named Abra to defeat a cult called The True Knot that attacks children with psychic powers.
The trailer shows Danny meeting Abra, talking about his powers and his past, and going through the corridors of the Overlook Hotel.
The film stars Ewan McGregor as Danny and Rebecca Ferguson as the leader of the cult. Mike Flannigan – known for his slasher film Silence, Adaptation of Stephen King Gerald's Game and original Netflix series The obsession of Hill House – directs the adaptation.
Sleep doctor is released on November 8, 2019.
