Doctor Strange would fight 2 Avengers in the Multiverse of Madness

It looks like Stephen Strange will have his hands full in his next sequel. When Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was announced, we found out that Elizabeth Olsen will star alongside Benedict Cumberbatch as Scarlet Witch. And with WandaVision Now taking place weekly on Disney Plus, fans increasingly feel that Wanda might be more of a threat to the Sorcerer Supreme than a friend. Could the heroes then overcome it in the film?

It certainly looks that way. In fact, it’s possible that Strange will end up facing not one but two Avengers in Doctor Strange 2. Insider Daniel Richtman recently shared that Chris Evans’ reported return as Captain America will see him play an alternate evil version of Cap from another universe loyal to HYDRA. And in a bit of follow-up, Richtman now confirms that Strange will come to grips with it with Scarlet Witch and HYDRA Cap in its sequel.

We can probably assume that the latter will only have a cameo in Doctor Strange 2 while Wanda will be a much larger presence, with the magical conflict between Strange and Scarlet Witch being a major component of the film. Still, a Strange vs Cap set piece could be one of the highlights of the sequel. Just imagine Strange’s mystical abilities against the strength and power of a corrupt Cape.

Don’t forget that Stephen Strange will also act as Peter Parker’s final mentor in Spider-Man 3, which probably prepares the opening of the multiverse before DS2. And WandaVision is known to be directly in the movie. The pieces should start to fall together very soon, so before Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness theatrical release in March 2022. Production is currently on hold in the UK, but will restart shortly.
