‘Doctor Who’ Drops Season 13 Trailer at Comic-Con Panel – Deadline

Doctor Who fans received a gift today at Comic-Con @ Home, as a panel presentation on the show was accompanied by the release of the Season 13 trailer.

The panel featured Jodie Whittaker as Doctor, Mandip Gill as Yasmin Khan and new mate John Bishop, who was announced at the end of the holiday special. He replaces former companions Ryan (Tosin Cole) and Graham O’Brien (Bradley Walsh).

The trailer also featured the first glimpse of guest star Jacob Anderson as Vinder. It resumes at the end of “The Revolution of the Daleks”.

The three stars joined showrunner and executive producer Chris Chibnall to preview this year’s script on the long-running sci-fi show, which airs on BBC America.

“If I could tell my young self that one day I would be asked to board the TARDIS, I never would have believed it,” Bishop said. “It is an absolute dream come true to join Doctor Who, and I couldn’t ask for better company than Jodie and Mandip.

Doctor Who is still in production for Season 13, but expects their first shows to arrive this year.

Unlike previous seasons, this year’s Doctor Who will tell a singular story. This is because of the filming schedule imposed by the challenges of the pandemic, admitted Chibnall. The pandemic has also shortened this season to eight episodes.

“Before we started doing it, there were times when we thought we would be unable to do the show under Covid conditions this year… there were two ways to go,” Chibnall said. “You can say ‘let’s do a lot of little episodes in one room, no monsters’, or we can throw in the gauntlet and do the biggest story we’ve ever made. We’re going to go to all kinds of different places, we’re going to. having all kinds of characters and monsters, and it’s all going to be part of a bigger whole. It’s definitely the most ambitious thing we’ve done since we’ve been on the show.
