Recently released documents show the Idaho lieutenant governor is facing a wave of backlash against his task force that has been set up to investigate “indoctrination” in schools.
The Idaho Statesman reported on the reaction Wednesday after months of reporters asking Lt. Gov. Janice McGeachin to release tapes of the comments. While some appeared to favor the task force, many reportedly made complaints that it was a witch hunt or a waste of government resources.
“My complaints against (the) education system in Idaho are that schools are underfunded and depend on local levies to meet basic needs,” said one commentator.
“Please stop this silly witch hunt and fund our children’s education – from kindergarten to college as soon as possible. We need you to stop wasting time and get on with your job! “

Another wrote: “Janice McGeachin is trying to chill the free speech of educators and other public employees.
McGeachin’s office did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment. She would be in hot water because of her refusal to release the records despite a court order. They finally came out last week after the Idaho Press Club filed a petition asking a judge to detain her until she released the full files.
The task force appeared to represent another facet of the growing movement to challenge ideas such as Critical Race Theory (CRT) in the United States – a hot topic that has inspired intense debate.

Conservatives generally argue that the CRT is a concept of division with roots in anti-American ideas like Marxism. One commentator reportedly said: “CRT teaches children how to judge someone based on the color of their skin. “
Proponents, however, say it helps foster understanding of complex social structures and combats systemic biases against minorities.
