LOS ANGELES (CNS) – Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Julio Urias has been arrested on suspicion of domestic violence for allegedly driving a woman to the ground in the Beverly Center car park, police said today.
Urias, 22, was released from prison after filing a $ 20,000 bail for the offense, said officer Norma Eisenman of the LAPD media relations section. The alleged attack occurred around 7:30 pm Monday at the Beverly Center parking lot at 8500 Beverly Blvd., she said.
TMZ reported that a witness called the police to tell him that the southpaw Dodger was in the parking lot talking to a woman and throwing her to the ground.
TMZ also reported that police officers took the spot on the stage and spoke to the woman, who denied anything physical, insisting that it was nothing more than an inflamed verbal argument.
Urias, born in Sinaloa, Mexico, made his debut on the Dodger in May 2016, recording a total record of 7-6 with 133 strikeouts.
Urias was moved from the starting rotation to the office in mid-April and recorded his second stoppage in five days on Friday.
In a statement to TMZ Sports, the Dodgers say they are still investigating the circumstances of the incident.
"As a result, we are not commenting on the incident at this time, however, every allegation of domestic violence must be taken seriously and dealt with promptly, and we will cooperate fully with the authorities and Major League Baseball to ensure what that is happening. " Case."
