The Padres beat the Giants today. This means the Giants actually lost a baseball game! With that, the Dodgers’ path to a 9th straight division title is still on the table. Julio Urias started for LA tonight in Los Angeles with a lot on the line. Not only is he looking to keep those divisional hopes alive, but he’s also aiming for the number 20 victory of the season.
Julio Urias is aiming for the number 20 victory in 2021, his first real full season as a starter. He does it yet again by putting the hopes of the Dodgers fans on his back.
Over 160 games in the season and there is still so much at stake… I love you, baseball.

One area that has been on the table in recent days for the Dodgers is who would start on Sunday. Walker Buehler was originally slated for the regular season finale, but Dave Roberts questioned that while he waited to see how NL West played. Now, before Saturday night’s game at Dodger Stadium – and before the loss to San Francisco, Doc has confirmed the plan anyway is to go with Walker on Sunday.
Walker will start. We’ll just see how many leash we’ll give him.
Not only will Buehler start at 12:10 PT with the Division in play, but he will also be looking to increase his NL Cy Young reward chances one last time. Plus, with the Giants losing, it looks like Dave will leave Walker as deep as needed for Sunday’s final.
With this departure, Butane would be in the running to start on Friday October 8… or match 1 of the NLDS. Let’s just hope the Dodgers can make it happen as division champions!
