The Dodgers are putting the finishing touches on signing contracts with all of their arbitrator-eligible players. With 7 players remaining to make deals this week, Los Angeles seems to be getting closer to making them all. The most recent name to appear with their figure is Corey Seager, who signed a new agreement for 2021 today.
The deal for Seager is worth $ 13.75 million. This new contract is a huge increase in his final year of officiating with the Dodgers after earning $ 7.6 million for the 2020 season. That figure was obviously reduced by the season shortened by 60 games.

Healthy for the first time since 2017, Seager put together a season that reminded everyone why the Dodgers were so high on him in the first place. Seager cut .307 / .358 / .585 and had 28 more hits in 2020. He also drove while putting 2.1 bWAR in the shortened season.

In the playoffs, Seager really turned him on. He had 17 hits between the NLCS and the World Series, winning MVP honors for both. Seager also smashed 7 home runs in those 2 series and broke many Dodgers franchise records along the way.
Now the hardest part comes for the Dodgers as they will have to work on Seager’s extension before the end of the season. Given that his agent is Scott Boras, there’s a chance Seager will hit the free agent market before agreeing to overtime midway through the season. But you can bet Andrew Friedman is working on something while he waits.
