Just two years after Scarlett Johansson and Romain Dauriac welcomed their daughter, Rose Dorothy Dauriac, the actress filed for divorce on the basis that the marriage was "irretrievably broken".
Although Scarlett Johansson was keen to keep her privacy secret, her very private divorce negotiations quickly took the form of a public battle between her and Dauriac.
At the time Johansson filed for divorce, she asked for joint custody of their daughter, but she wanted Rose to live with her, despite her busy schedule.
This request did not please Romain Dauriac and the lawyer of the art conservator has publicly called Johansson for his unrealistic demands.
In fact, Dauriac was Rose's main keeper, while Scarlett Johansson traveled around the world for his work.
According to Dauriac's lawyer, Hal Mayerson, his client was "shocked" by the petition for divorce and saw a "preventive strike" during a possible battle for custody.
Once the divorce formed by the courts, Dauriac continued to seek the joint and principal physical custody of their daughter, in addition to "economic relief" under alimony and counseling costs.
Duariac also asked Rose to raise Rose in France, saying that Johansson's busy schedules would be too difficult for the young child.

Even though Johansson and Dauriac were not in the best of circumstances after filing for divorce, the former couple could remain civilly one to the other.
After the divorce of their divorce in 2017, Scarlett and Romain work together to raise their five-year-old daughter.
In a statement published by both Johansson and Dauriac, the former couple revealed that they were on good terms and that their main priority was the co-parenting of their daughter.
