A dog and eight people in Nashville were injured in a Sunday morning shooting that erupted during an argument over the animal, according to a report.
The dog was shot in the hip and taken to an emergency vet after the pair shot each other just after 1 a.m. at an intersection in the city’s downtown core, authorities told Nashville Tennessean.
The dog’s condition was not immediately known.
All eight adults appeared to have sustained non-life threatening injuries, the newspaper reported.
One of the shooters was the man with the dog, police said. He had argued with a group of people about the animal.
A man from the group left and returned shortly thereafter with a gun before the two suspects shot each other.
The suspects fled after the shooting. A firearm was recovered from the scene.
