PARIS SOUTH, Maine – A dog that disappeared in Massachusetts a few months ago was reunited with his family after being found in Maine, 282 kilometers away.
The Bangor Daily News announced that five-year-old Shepherd King Kaiser had left Ashby, Massachusetts, to travel south of Paris, Maine, within eight months. The dog jumped a wall in front of the house of a woman who was taking care of him before disappearing.
Kaiser owner Tom Wollcott and his children were reunited with the dog on Sunday morning. Wollcott did a thorough search, including using a drone to try to find Kaiser.
A woman from Bethel, Maine, had fed Kaiser and called for animal control, which led her to a deadly shelter in the south of Paris. The shelter indicates in a Facebook message that Wollcott was then able to identify Kaiser.
