Dog the Bounty Hunter marks its territory.
The reality TV star, real name Duane Chapman, will open a base in central Florida on Wednesday to help spot fugitive Brian Laundrie, wanted for questioning in the disappearance and death of Gabby Petito.
Chapman was on Marco Island on Tuesday sifting through advice while planning his next move and new seat, a source close to the leading manhunter told The Post.
“He’s trying to decide on the next best lead to take,” the source said. “They are returning hundreds of calls and scheduling.”
Chapman interrupted his honeymoon with his new wife, Francie Frane, on Saturday to start looking for Laundrie, 23.
Laundrie and Petito, 22, were traveling across the country when the Blue Point native went missing last month – and was later found dead in a remote Wyoming campground.
Laundrie returned home without her and was named a Person of Interest in the case, but has since fled and is now the subject of a massive FBI manhunt.
Authorities scoured a 25,000-acre swamp reserve near Laundrie’s parents’ home in North Port, but dried up after nearly two weeks.
But Chapman said Monday he has a lead over Laundrie which puts him miles away at Fort De Soto Park in Pinellas County, where he said Laundrie and his parents were seen as recently as September 8.
A spokesperson for the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office told the Post on Tuesday that they were not called in to join the search and said the helicopters seen over the park are daily overflights of the wooded recreation area.
Laundrie has not been charged in Petito’s death. But he was indicted last week for allegedly using someone else’s bank card in the early days of Petito’s disappearance.
