Knicks owner James Dolan said the fan who faced him told him to "sell the team" after the New York defeat at Saturday's Sacramento Kings was banned in Madison Square. Garden.

At "The Michael Kay Show" on 1050 ESPN New York on Tuesday, Dolan called the showdown an "ambush" and said the fan had sold the video to TMZ.

"This ban comes only from the fact that we now know it's planned," Dolan said. "They were hounding me, you can not do that at Madison Square Garden, you do not have the right to hunt down the owner and face him like that.

"These guys planned to make this video and sell it on TMZ."

The exchange began when the fan shouted at Dolan to "sell the team" while he was entering the tunnel. The billionaire stopped and replied, "So you think I should sell the team?" and beckoned to the fan.

"Do not you want to come to games?" Dolan asked, adding that the fan's comment was rude.

When the fan protested saying that he was only giving his opinion, Dolan replied, "No, that's not an opinion, and you know what, enjoy it, look at them at the television."

Dolan then pointed the fan and nodded to the security, who ordered him to hold it. TMZ reported security and police questioned the man before asking him to leave the arena.

Dolan said Tuesday that he had originally planned to invite the fan back and let him meet the team to show him that the franchise was heading in a positive direction. However, he said, it changed when "it became obvious that everything was planned."

Dolan also raised rumors that he was considering selling the team.

"For the record, I do not sell the team and I do not stop," said Dolan.
