Dolly Parton co-wrote a novel with James Patterson

There is no such thing as the perfect crossover

Legendary country singer, actor, philanthropist, Buffy the vampire slayer producer, and Modern vaccine fund Dolly Parton has teamed up with a prolific author James patterson on the singer’s first novel, title Run, rose, run. What a truly unexpected sentence.

Located in Nashville, Run, rose, run is a novel about “a young woman who comes to the country music capital to pursue her musical dreams. The source of her heartbreaking songs is a brutal secret that she has done everything to hide. But the past she’s fled seeks to control her future, even if it means destroying everything she’s worked for.

The queen of country has also written, performed and produced a twelve-track album inspired by Run, Rose, run, which will be released in partnership with the book in March 2022.

“I can’t be more excited about the release of my very first novel Run, rose, run with the great James Patterson, ”Parton says of his writing counterpart. “All of the new songs were written based on the characters and situations in the book. Hope you enjoy the book and the songs as much as we got putting it all together!

While this is Parton’s first novel, it is definitely not Patterson’s. the Alex cross the writer wrote more than 200 novels during his career, spanning the thriller, romance and fiction genres. Now: Are all these books exgood ? Far from there. But are they entertaining? Almost uniformly. Patterson’s most recent literary collaboration was The president has disappeared, a thriller written with the old President Bill Clinton.

“It was an honor — and a lot of fun — to work with the inimitable Dolly Parton, whom I have long admired for her music, her storytelling, and her tremendous generosity,” says Patterson. “What is breathtaking about this project is that reading the novel is reinforced by listening to the album and vice versa.
