Dolly Parton is in no rush to get the COVID-19 vaccine after donating $ 1 million for its development. In an interview with the Associated press, the singer said she postponed this because she didn’t want it to look like she was getting special treatment.
“I’m not going to get mine until other people have theirs,” Parton said. “I don’t want it to look like it skips the line just because I donated the money.”
“I’m very funny about it. I will however have mine, but I will wait, ”she added.
Parton said she initially planned to get the vaccine on her 75th birthday on January 19, but after much thought, she said to herself, “No, don’t do that. You will look like you’re doing a show. And “None of [her] work is really like that.
“I wasn’t doing it for a show,” she says.
However, when Parton gets the photo, she plans to do it “on camera” to encourage more people to get theirs.
“I’ll tell them the truth, if I have symptoms and all that,” the “9 to 5” artist said. “I hope that will encourage people. I’m not going to skip the line just because I could.
Plus, she knows how important it is for people in her age group to stay healthy.
“I plan to stay a lot longer. I do not have [any] plans to slow down because the numbers say I should, ”she said. “I don’t care about it. I wake up with new dreams every day.
Parton is a true leader and with his help the world can feel safe and secure again after receiving their COVID-19 vaccine.
