Dolphins were expected to leave expensive veterans, and T.J. McDonald was the first on the block.

McDonald, a security veteran who signed with the Dolphins in 2017, has been released.

Miami is trying to rejuvenate and cheaper, so it's not surprising that the Dolphins decided to leave McDonald's.

McDonald now becomes an unrestricted free agent. He started 14 games last year. So it's probably good enough to get by, although there are only six days left before the last deletions and so many crews fill up in the NFL formation. It may take a few weeks to find his next team.
