The Miami Dolphins added offensive attack depth two days before their first game of the season against Baltimore Ravens.
Ian Rapoport, a member of the NFL Network, announced Friday that the Dolphins were signing OT's Marcus Webb, according to an informed source of the situation.
The team then confirmed the signing and placed linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel on the injured list.
You may have heard that Miami had a gaping hole after Laremy Tunsil's trade with the Texans. Dolphins have had a lot of picks in the trade, but the picks can not block.
While Webb mainly played the right tackle when he was on the field in recent years, he could replace Tunsil on the left side, according to Rapoport.
The 31-year-old has only played one match since 2016 while he was injured. The trend came from the Indianapolis Colts last season before landing on the IR. Webb did not survive the Indy final cuts this year.
Webb made 65 career starts as a goalie and striker for the Bears, Vikings, Raiders, Seahawks and Colts. At the very least, Webb should provide depth to the tackle points in Miami.
After trading with Tunsil, the Dolphins are looking for a viable blocker to fill what could be the worst football offensive line of the season. Webb is the first man to help fill these shoes.
