The Bears took action to bolster their kicking return units on Tuesday.
Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that they send a sixth-round pick in 2023 to the Dolphins in exchange for wide receiver Jakeem Grant.
Grant has played an attacking role during his six seasons with the Dolphins, but his biggest impact has come on special teams. He returned three punts and two kickoffs for touchdowns during his career. Grant also caught 91 passes for 1,001 yards and five touchdowns.
The Bears used Khalil Herbert as the kickoff returner and Nsimba Webster as the punt returner for the first four weeks, but Grant will likely push them back once he’s officially added to the roster in Chicago.
