NEW YORK – The unlikely was untouchable.

Domingo German has not just closed the Twins Sunday. He gave them an idiotic air with a brittle ball and a good order.

The right-hander quickly worked more than 6 2/3 innings, the ideal Yankees elixir on a cold, rainy Sunday afternoon in the Bronx. Another house led by Mike Tauchman gave the German the support he needed in a 4-1 victory in front of 38,603 spectators at Yankee Stadium.

The match was finally called after one hour, one minute late because of the rain that hit the eighth in the middle of Brett Gardner's match. That helped the Yankees win their eleventh win in 15 games and take two of three goals in first place in Minnesota.

New York (19-14) will continue its matches Monday with four games against Seattle.

"The way the German launched this year has been amazing," said Tauchman. "Whenever he picks up the ball, we know he's going to fill the hitting area."

German (6-1) is reinvented after a fragile rookie season in New York. He has a 2.35 ERA this year and is tied with Tyler Glasnow of Tampa Bay for the most baseball wins.

On Sunday, he made 108 shots, a career-high, eliminating seven and allowing only four hits. The German has awarded a new state of mind to the mound and his work out of season with pitcher Larry Rothschild coach.

"The first thing is trust," said the German through an interpreter. "To track this, I've been able to run throws with a difficult account."

As the season approached, the role of the German in New York was not clear. He struggled in 14 starts last season and had no place in the rotation. The addition of James Paxton during the off-season has only deepened the list of employees of Luis Severino, CC Sabathia, J.A. Happ and Masahiro Tanaka. But the 26-year-old German climbed the depth chart with each injury and seized the opportunity.

"He was huge, he really did," said manager Aaron Boone. "He was at this point, I think one of the best pitchers of the game."

The Yankees gave the German a two-point lead thanks to a defensive error in the second run.

Gleyber Torres started the rally with a single in the center, extending his streak to an 11-game career high. The Yankees' sophomore records 15 wins out of 45 during this period with a home run and seven RBIs. Then, the loaded bases and the two other outings, DJ LeMahieu approached on a simple inside, shooting a pitching error that earned Brett Gardner to finish second.

Tauchman crushed a home two-run circuit later in the game, making a full throw with two outs. He broke a 4-for-39 sequence for the new Yankee player.

"It's always good to hit a homerun," said Tauchman. "I obviously did not beat my stick almost to the level I want to do – it was great to contribute."

Clint Frazier is expected to join the Yankees this week and Aaron Hicks is expected to return soon. Training should soon be strengthened.

For the Yankees, the work done by the Germans and other newcomers brought them to a successful conclusion in the first month.

"It's something that, hopefully, has brought us closer as a club," Boone said. "We have absolutely rallied to the adversity we have had to face, and to see these guys coming together, supporting each other and pulling each other out, I think it will only make us stronger in the long run. term."
