Donald Trump Jr. spent Saturday mocking undercover law enforcement at the failed Washington, DC right-wing rally.
Fewer than 100 people turned up at the event near the Capitol which aimed to salute those who stormed the building on January 6 as “political prisoners” treated unfairly. Several extremist groups warned members to stay away from the event, fearing it was a “trap” for law enforcement to monitor and arrest them.
This was apparently the view of Trump Jr. – a supposed law and order enthusiast – who poked fun at law enforcement members in the crowd who were not very effectively “infiltrated.”
He laughed at the officers as an “absolute joke … forced into these bullshit situations to trap the Americans.”
Trump Jr. didn’t seem to remember the real danger police faced during the Capitol uprising on Jan.6 as rioters marauded the Capitol for hours unhindered. More safety precautions were taken this time around at a right-wing event.
His latest dig was predictable against President Joe Biden, who he said should have spent so much time “being tough on the Taliban” – the group his father struck a deal with.
