Donny Osmond has detailed his health concerns, after he became temporarily paralyzed following back and neck surgery in 2019.

The 70s icon, 63, revealed to Mirror that after discovering his spine had shifted due to dancing injuries, he went under the knife – before contracting an infection while recovering, this which made him unable to move.

Attributing a strong state of mind and devout Mormon faith to helping him recover, Donny confessed that he felt like he had “come back from the dead” now that he had returned to the stage for an all-sung and all-danced Vegas residency.

Donny’s health problems began in a dramatic fashion as he performed the last issue of his show in Las Vegas with his sister Marie in November 2019.

The duo were wrapping up their Donny & Marie residency at the Flamingo Hotel and Casino, after 11 years and 1,730 performances, when horror struck.

He revealed, “I couldn’t feel my arms anymore, then suddenly my legs too. I didn’t tell anyone what was happening to me … I just kept dancing and finished the show. ‘

The incident led Donny to discover his spinal change following numerous injuries – including during his stint on Dancing On The Stars in 2009 – leading to his back and neck surgery, which unfortunately ended in horror.

He said: “I thought everything would be fine, but it couldn’t have been worse. I had a secondary infection which prevented me from moving.

While he admitted that he feared he would never walk again, he made up his mind to make a full recovery and now has made such an incredible recovery that he has returned to Vegas for his residency at Harrah’s Showroom at Harrah’s.

Speaking of his return to the stage after so much pain and suffering, he admitted that he himself couldn’t believe he was back.

He said: “The show last night was wild… the amount of dancing and singing and everything. I started off below zero, but I feel like I came back from the dead. suffer more now, maybe even harder than before.

His back surgery isn’t the only health issue Donny has faced, having also been forced to undergo vocal cord surgery in 2017.

Doctors found a hemorrhagic polyp on Donny’s right vocal cord during an exam. The polyp – also known as a bleeding lesion – will require surgery.

An escape star, Donny collaborated with Marie on albums and on a 1970s variety show that ran from 1976 to 1979.
