Don’t panic but Steelers WR James Washington missed Monday’s practice

If all you saw on social media Monday was that Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver James Washington wasn’t in training, your mind might stray to a dark place where the Steelers hid him to trade. Washington ahead of this week’s preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

However, according to head coach Mike Tomlin, Washington’s absence was linked to injury and was nothing to do with bad things. Washington suffered a knee injury and had to quit training on Sunday, so being out on Monday was just an extension of that.

According to Tomlin, he will have an update on Washington on Tuesday. It was reported after last week’s preseason that Washington had requested a trade. A report that Tomlin was quick to dismiss when asked about it.
