GameStop worries some Switch owners today, as they are calling people who pre-ordered DOOM Eternal on Switch and telling them the game is canceled. Normally that would be a big cause for concern, but we have a glimpse of the situation that should put people at ease.
While I can’t say details just yet, nor can I specifically say who gave me information, I will say I have 99.9% reason to believe DOOM Eternal on Switch is alive and well. . All I can say is that my reason for believing the game is not being canceled comes from an official source close to the project. If there is some truth to this GameStop news, maybe it has to do with the physical release plans, not the game in general.
I reached out to my source and others related to the project for a comment on this. If / when we get this statement, I will be sure to let you know.

UPDATE 2 – DOOM Eternal is not being canceled for Switch, but will now be digital only. You can find a statement from Bethesda below.
While Doom Eternal is 100% on track for imminent digital release on Nintendo Switch, the lack of a physical release at the retailer has resulted in the cancellation of pre-orders. Affected customers will receive a full refund and should contact their preferred dealer for more information. “
