the Downton Abbey The film may seem to be a complete Crawley family reunion, but a key member is lacking in action for the big screen night – and fans have noticed it.

More specifically, they wonder what happened to Rose Aldridge (Lily James), her cousin who has trouble playing, and last seen Christmas at Downton in the series finale 2015. The character made a splash when she joined the hit series in 2012, and even when she left the abbey with her new husband, she was never far from our minds.

"It would be a little weird if she [randomly showed up] and was like, "Hi, I hear the royals are here!"

To be honest, fans probably should not be too surprised by Rose's absence. After all, James confirmed the status of his character when the movie was announced in 2018, saying People"My character Rose has moved to New York, so it would be far-fetched to bring her back. … I would have liked to come back for a scene, but for a movie, it can not be like a Christmas special. "May be [she could do it] if there is another, "added Leech. "We could visit him in New York!"
