Dr Pimple Popperr kept the knowledge to come and added: “A hair cyst, also known as a trichilemmal cyst or isthmus-catagen, is a benign (not life-threatening) growth that, upon examination, appears identical to the more common epidermoid cyst, except that 90% of hair cysts occur on the scalp.They tend to be more mobile and firmer than epidermoid cysts and originate from a different part of the hair follicle. internal contents tend to be more “homogeneous” and smoother. It is not uncommon to have multiple hair cysts on the scalp and the condition spreads in the family. Treatment is usually reserved for cosmetic reasons and excision with removal of the cyst and its contents are curative. The good thing about these cysts is that they often have thicker walls, so they can often be ‘popped’ whole, which not only guarantees that I have them completely deleted, but also leads to an extremely satisfying “pop”!
