Drake came to The Weeknd’s defense amid his Grammy snub, saying the awards show “might not matter anymore.”
In a post to the rapper’s Instagram story on Wednesday, Drake sided with The Weeknd – who received no nominations this year for their album “After Hours” – and suggested there was a ” disconnect ”between the Grammys and the music that was making waves in the industry.
“I think we should stop being shocked every year by the disconnect between hard-hitting music and these awards and just accept that what was once the highest form of recognition no longer matters to the artists out there.” now and those who come after, ”Drake wrote. “It’s like a parent you always wait to fix, but they just can’t change their ways.”

After receiving no nominations on Tuesday, The Weeknd publicly accused the Grammys of corruption on Twitter.
