Programming note: Watch the NBA Finals pre-game edition of Warriors Outsiders Wednesday at 4pm, streaming live on the MyTeams app.
In the fourth quarter of the second game of the NBA finals, the Warriors were offensive.
They scored 18 points in the first 6 minutes and 21 seconds of the frame, making 7 of 10 field shots.
The score in Part 2 indicates that Steph Curry had no help in the 4th quarter. That's why you have to watch the game to understand what happened. pic.twitter.com/ebsUPRU2l9

If anyone tries to tell you that Steph Curry is overrated and / or not one of the best, watch this clip … (Kawhi and Gasol trap him 45 feet from the basket because Curry is terrifying) pic.twitter.com/CPdUyskw1O

Draymond had a wide open lane to throw that lob at Bogut because Curry had collapsed the defense and the Raptors were in major scrambling mode (but Curry has no purpose in the box for that). pic.twitter.com/1GALzOtvZL

After the Bogut faceoff, Raptors head coach Nick Nurse called timeout. It was at this point that he decided to make sure that Toronto played Steph Curry as a defender.
"During the break, I thought," I'm thinking of going to the box-and-one. What do you think? "Nuse told the press on Tuesday." And they say, "Well, what's that like?" And I drew the box and who would be where … and Kyle (Lowry) was the kind to to say, "Yeah, man, it'll work."
"We had a hard time putting our defense in. We had a bit of trouble carrying the basket, and we had problems with the rhythm of the game … we played a few areas in the regular season and we usually do it when the game is funky and there is a bad pace – maybe you can change it, right?
"Just by slowing them down or stopping part of their cut, it seemed to better protect the edge of the rim and stopped part of their cut." It was good, I do not know. just to find something to stop them. "
And stop they did it:
Here is the first possession of the Raptors with a box and a Curry. Watch Nick Nurse jump on the sideline. Haha. It worked here for sure, but how is it Curry's fault? VanVleet stops and grows Curry … pic.twitter.com/ytjrIC7HTV

After this turnaround, the Warriors missed their next six shots and Draymond Green returned the ball with just under 52 seconds.
Fortunately for Golden State, Andre Iguodala saved the day with his dagger to 3 pointers in the final seconds.
If the Raptors use box-and-one again in the third game – which might depend on Klay Thompson's adequacy – Draymond is confident that the Dubs will get better results.

"I think they're probably going to throw out more of this box-and-one – or whatever they did with Steph – over there," he said. Allie LaForce at NBATV. "It was a bit shocking when they threw it out.
"We have seen it now, so I plan to cut it in dice if they throw it again."
Finally, when it was brought to Nurse's attention that the Warriors head coach, Steve Kerr, stated that he had never seen anyone use the box-and- one in the NBA, the nurse replied:
"Everyone makes fun of me for that, right?"
