Drew Barrymore in tears by surprise guest on his birthday

Drew Barrymore turns 46 next week and we already know she has a surprise: David Letterman.

A preview of Monday’s “The Drew Barrymore Show” birthday party has dropped, possibly revealing the visit of Barrymore’s favorite talk show host.

There is a lot of history there. She has appeared 20 times on Letterman’s “The Late Show”, “Entertainment Tonight” noted. Once, in 1995, she got up to his desk and flashed him.

Similar Letterman antics are not likely on Barrymore’s own talk show. But the preview shows the comedian groping in a Zoom conversation with Barrymore and Savannah Guthrie. He then pretends to give up in frustration and steps onto the set, shocking the host in tears of joy.

“I am so grateful that you came here,” Barrymore says.

Letterman’s last episode as host of “The Late Show” aired in 2015, but he can still bring the funny.

“You know that little thing with the computer, that Zoomer thing?” It was my idea, ”he says.

Steven Spielberg, director of Barrymore on “ET” and his godfather, will also be in attendance at the anniversary celebration.
