Between them, Drew Brees and Tom Brady have a lot of everything: wins, completions, yards, touchdowns, rings (mostly owned by Brady), awards (mostly owned by Brady) and respect.

“Tom and I have friendship and mutual respectBrees said Wednesday.

While Brady has more rings and more rewards, Brees has the upper hand in their head-to-head battles.

They will meet for the third time this season, the eighth time and the first time in the playoffs. Brees is 5-2 against Brady, including 2-0 this season.

“We texted Monday, just a little laugh at the whole scenario, okay,” Brees said. “He’s 43 years old. I’ll be 42 on Friday, so 85 and a lot of football experience are going to be on the pitch on Sunday.

“When Tom Brady signed with the Bucs, and I knew he was coming to our division, I envisioned this game. What was it nine months ago? Eight months ago? I imagined this game would happen because I knew our aspirations as a team, to be in the playoffs and beyond, and I certainly knew what it brought to the Bucs and this talented team. And so, I think that’s probably where we’ve all envisioned to be at this point in the season.

The combined age of 85 will make Brady and Brees the oldest starting quarterbacks to play against each other in NFL history.

Brady tweeted a meme for the elderly, portraying the greatest of all time as older quarterbacks ready to fight on The History Channel. It was a play on the Nickelodeon show of the Saints Bears game last weekend.

Brees retweeted him and laughed when asked on Wednesday.

“Unfortunately, they made me look like the father of Family Ties. I didn’t like the hairline. I’ll be honest, ”Brees said. “I would have liked a bit thicker hair. I know I’m getting older and probably losing a bit. I would have liked a little more hair at the top. I’ve never been able to grow a beard, so that’s what I have later in my future. Maybe I’ll have a nice, thick beard. But I thought it was hilarious.
