An enraged driver in California died early Saturday after allegedly attempting to crash his truck into a group of people after being kicked out from a local business, according to a report.

The series of wild events unfolded after the unidentified man started falling out with another person when he was fired from a business in Hawthorne around midnight, a spokesperson for the Department of Los Angeles County Sheriff at the Daily Breeze.

Police said the man got into his truck and crashed into a tree as he tried to break into the group gathered on a sidewalk, the store reported.

Potential victims attempted to get the man out of his vehicle, but the driver again pumped out gasoline, hitting the corner of a building, police said.

After the second collision, the group of people managed to pull the man from his truck.

When police arrived, the group was fighting with the driver outside the vehicle, according to the report.

Shortly after, the man died at the scene after suffering blunt trauma, authorities said.

Most of those involved in the fight were questioned and released by police while awaiting the results of an autopsy.

Reynaga said the accidents “weren’t that hard-hitting” and detectives are waiting to see if the man suffered some type of medical episode during the chaos that led to his death.
