"The dog is back home and is resting comfortably," a representative from Chapman told CNN. "He is overwhelmed by the support of his fans and his friends around the world and is deeply touched by the flow of prayers, love and encouragement."

On Monday, the Chapman representative confirmed that the star "Dog's Most Wanted" was under the care of a doctor and was resting, as a result of information that he would have had an emergency related to the heart.

The representative declined to clarify the nature of Chapman's medical problem.

The statement adds that Chapman "follows the doctor's orders and takes the time to heal".

Chapman became known to viewers via "Dog the Bounty Hunter," a reality television series airing from 2004 to 2012. His late wife, Beth Chapman, played alongside him in his current and previous series until his died in June.

Beth Chapman, 51, died of throat cancer.

They had been married since 2006 and had raised 12 children together, some from previous relationships.

"Dog's Most Wanted" airs Wednesday night on WGN America.
