Lusty “Bridgerton” lovers catapult the Duke of Hastings’ spoon into the social media superstar.
Critically acclaimed as the hottest inanimate object in show business, the tea stirrer’s sultry rendezvous with the Duke has rocked digital languages.
“I fantasize about being the duke’s spoon”, a not-so-languid Twitter user said. “Normal people gave us Connell’s chain necklace, then @bridgerton said hold my beer and gave us the duke and that silver spoon” another spoon-passed out online said.
Now the Lucky Utensil – hailed as the star of the hit Netflix period drama – has its own Instagram account.
Parrot of the cyber craze unleashed last year by Connell Waldron’s channel in the BBC’s adaptation of “Normal People,” the “Bridgerton” spoon stole the show when the Duke, actor Regé-Jean Page, 31, seductively licked him over tea with his future friend Daphne Bridgerton, played by actress Phoebe Dynevor, 25.
With fans of the sexy scene foaming in their mouths, reporter Billie Bhatia kicked off Instagram profile @TheDukesSpoon in a risky curtsy for the tantalizing totem pole.
Bhatia, the master curator of the @ConnellsChain account which has an impressive 178,000 subscribers, describes the @TheDukesSpoon page as: “A space dedicated not only to tempting cutlery, but also to charming ties (preferably loose), abdomens. sculpted and raised eyebrow to finish all raised eyebrows.
Amassing nearly 4,000 followers in less than four days, @ TheDukesSpoon’s studious snaps spark budding objects of the Duke’s affection by leaving comments such as: “[This is the] the first time I was jealous of a spoon “and” I hope I come back like a spoon in my second life. “
A word of warning my tongue-in-cheek friends: before you sneak into @ TheDukesSpoon’s DMs, just remember Lady Whistledown is still watching.
