Dungeons & Dragons revisits some of his most famous adventures in his next publication.

Earlier today, Amazon disclosed the next Dungeons & Dragons publication: Ghosts of salt. As has already been suggested, the new book will feature water-themed adventures, as well as new rules for nautical vessels and voyages. The book will also introduce readers to the city of Saltmarsh, which played an important role in a trilogy of adventures between parties to sahuagin maneuvers.

The cover for Ghosts of salt (See below) shows adventurers fighting a sahuagin in a boat while a kraken was attacking a ship in the background.

We knew earlier this month that the next book would include a remake of the Saltmarsh trilogy, when the preview pages corresponded to the pages of "The Final Enemy". Similar to 2017 Tales of the gaping portal, the book will contain updated versions of classic adventures such as "Salvage Operation", "Isle of the Abbey", "Tammeraut's Fate" and "The Styes". It is interesting to note that the book's list indicates that adventures can either exist independently or be combined for a Level 1 to Level 12 adventure.

The new publication also includes deck plans for various ships and an appendix of new and existing monsters. We will also note that Saltmarsh is part of the Greyhawk campaign, which was not officially presented in the fifth edition. Many adventures in Tales of the gaping portal was also held in Greyhawk, but the mention that Saltmarsh will be developed in the new teases of books that Greyhawk could soon play a more important role in the future of the fifth edition.

No prices are currently listed on Amazon, but Ghosts of Saltmarsh is announced for May 21. We will have to see if DIY stores will have Ghosts of salt two weeks earlier, similar to the past adventures of D & D.
