Durgin-Park Restaurant Memorabilia At Auction – Boston Herald

BOSTON – Fans of the recently closed Boston restaurant Durgin Park can now own a piece of culinary history.

Billboards and other memorabilia from Faneuil Hall's restaurant, which featured as the city's second oldest restaurant, are being auctioned.

Among the 200 items for sale are an entrance panel and a carved wooden pig dating from 1879. The items for sale can be viewed at the restaurant this weekend.

The restaurant was founded in 1827 and received its current name in 1877 in honor of two of the original partners, John Durgin and Eldridge Park. He was famous for his traditional Yankee dishes and impertinent staff.

The property, citing fewer customers and higher costs, closed the restaurant last month.
