A rep for the actor said Thursday that Diamond, known for playing Samuel “Screech” Powers in the hit ’90s teen series, had completed his first chemotherapy treatment, followed by another.
“Dustin can’t wait to spend more time with his girlfriend, playing his bass / video games, as well as making videos for his fans on social media,” said Roger Paul, Diamond representative.
Diamond, who revealed her diagnosis last week, will also begin physical therapy soon, Paul added.
Diamond has played the role of Screech for over a decade, appearing in four different incarnations of the “Saved by the Bell” franchise.
Peacock is currently hosting a reboot of the series, in which Diamond did not appear.
