Dwayne Johnson intervened for his injured friend Kevin Hart following his car accident over the weekend.

The actor and comedian were involved in a car accident on the Malibu Mulholland Highway early Sunday morning, injured on the back. After the accident, Hart was operated on and it is said that he "is fine". But, as Hart recovers, he will not be able to attend his scheduled appearance in the first episode of Kelly Clarksonnew talk show, Kelly Clarkson's show. After hearing about his friend's injury, Johnson made the decision to return early from his honeymoon to appear in the talk show instead of Hart.

Johnson, who recently tied the knot with a long-time love Lauren Hashian, was in Kauai before returning to Los Angeles for the Clarkson show.

"When my son, KevinHart4real, is hurt, his grandfather intervenes," Johnson tweeted Wednesday. "I left my honeymoon early (Lauren approved because she LOVED Kelly) and now, Kelly and we are new best friends."

"Tune in this Monday! We had the best time!" Johnson went on, adding hashtags #greathost #hotcrowd #amazingenergy.

Johnson, who co-stars with Hart in Jumanji, also shared an excerpt from his upcoming appearance in the Clarkson show. Take a look at the overview above to see Clarkson talk about Johnson and how he "strengthened the camp" for his injured friend!

Kelly Clarkson's show premieres on Monday 9 September.
