This afternoon, just before the UCLA vs Alabama NCAA tournament game, Dwayne Johnson revealed the release date for his New Line / DC superhero movie. Black Adam: July 29, 2022.
Johnson appeared in a short spot on TBS for Black adam, and also posted on Instagram and Twitter (see below) showing digital screens in Times Square in New York on fire with the release date.
“The hierarchy of power in the DC Universe is about to change,” Dwayne Johnson told TBS.
Johnson also took a fun jab from NCAA sports reporter and former 11-time NBA All-Star Charles Barkley, a native of Alabama and Auburn University alumnus: “And Chuck: There there’s nothing I can do for a guy from Auburn who picks Alabama to go to Final 4. ”Johnson teased right before the UCLA game against Alabama today.

“He’s been insane since I was a longtime double in the movies,” Barkley told his NCAA colleagues after the spot, adding, “If Alabama makes it to Final 4, I wear a foot-hat. -Hen and wear it! Roll Tide! “
Black adam Also stars Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone and Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Fate.
Jaume Collet-Serra, who also directed Johnson alongside Emily Blunt in Disney’s Jungle cruise, will lead. Johnson, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia of Seven Bucks Productions produce Black adam with Beau Flynn from FlynnPictureCo. FlynnPictureCo’s Scott Sheldon will serve as the EP.
Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani wrote the last draft. Adam Sztykiel wrote the previous draft.
