Posting on social media, actor Dwayne Johnson teases a major announcement for Warner Bros. ‘next Black Adam movie.

Actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson released a Black adam clip on social media, teasing an upcoming major announcement.

“It is said in the streets that Black Adam, himself, is making an announcement today,” he wrote, adding: “Let’s see what he has in store as the hierarchy of power in the universe DC is about to change. Stay tuned. ” No further details were provided.

Development for Black adam started in 2014, when Johnson was first chosen. The character was intended to appear in 2017 Shazam!, but narrative changes have been made.

The film will apparently serve as a prequel to Shazam!. It was originally scheduled to start filming in 2019, but was forced to delay due to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Johnson recently revealed that filming for the long-awaited film will begin in several weeks. Principal photography was previously reported to begin in April.

Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, Black adam stars Dwayne Johnson, Noah Centineo, Aldis Hodge, Quintessa Swindell, Pierce Brosnan, Marwan Kenzari and Sarah Shahi. The film has yet to receive a release date.
