Kevin Hart was to appear in the first episode of Kelly Clarkson's new talk show, Kelly Clarkson's showBut the comedian suffered "serious back injuries" following a car accident on Mulholland Highway in Malibu early Sunday morning. As a result, Dwayne Johnson will return from her early honeymoon to replace Hart in the series.

Johnson recently married her long-time partner, Lauren Hashian, and was in Kauai to celebrate her wedding. "When my son, KevinHart4real, is hurt, his grandfather intervenes," he tweeted on Wednesday. "I left my honeymoon early (Lauren approved because she LOVED Kelly) and now, Kelly and we are new best friends."

Hart would have been operated on for his injuries and should recover.

On Monday, several outlets reported that Hart had had back surgery Sunday night after the accident. After the operation, Hart's wife, Eniko, told TMZ, outside the hospital, that Hart was awake and that he was doing very well. "He'll be fine," she assured him.

When asked by a photographer about Hart's type of "spirits," she replied, "He's good."

Hart in July went to Instagram to share a photo of his collector car, revealing that he had bought it as a gift for his 40th birthday. "I added a little more muscle to the family for my 40th …." the actor posted.
