“It was not easy to decide whether to allow this tape to be viewed publicly now in this way,” said Mia Farrow’s 35-year-old daughter.

Dylan Farrow shared a lengthy post on Sunday morning discussing her anxiety over the next installment of the Allen vs. Farrow HBO Docuseries.

Farrow, 35, said she lost sleep during Sunday’s episode due to a video in which she, at 7, described to her mother the alleged sexual abuse of her adoptive father, Woody Allen.

“Deciding whether to allow this tape to be viewed publicly now in this manner was not easy,” Farrow wrote on social media. “I myself have resisted watching it until now. It had long been stored in a closer. Scared. Buried.

Referring to “Little Dylan,” Farrow said she almost did not give the tape to docusery filmmakers Amy Ziering and Kirby Dick because she wanted to protect the child from the “court of public opinion,” which ‘she could treat like an adult.

“But I decided to let them share in the hope that Little Dylan’s voice could now help others suffering in silence feel heard, understood and less alone,” Farrow wrote. “If you watch this video, I really hope you do it with empathy, compassion and an open mind and heart and that you don’t use it as an opportunity to attack, to turn away, to criticize, to yourself. mock or further avoid Little Dylan. “

“I hope this tape will help us all find ways to allow painful secrets to safely come out of their closets so that we can all heal and move forward in strength and peace. More ashamed, buried, scared, sad. and silent. “

His post precedes Sunday’s second installment of the four-part documentary series, which will include never-before-seen footage of a 7-year-old Dylan recounting the alleged abuse.

Allen has and continues to vehemently deny all allegations of abuse.
