E! took the bold decision to cancel Busy Philipps late-night show Busy tonight. The actress has announced the news on social media with both a story on Instagram and a tweet.
Last October, E! the first of the late-night talk show led by Philipps, where the actress commented on all things pop culture, alongside a round table of friends and guests. This decision was important for a number of reasons, but largely because Philipps and his crew, mostly women, brought a new presence in a landscape dominated by men. It should also be noted that the addition of Philipps meant that there were two active female guests late at night between her and Samantha Bee. Alas, where there is progress, we can especially rely on the rules of Highlander prevail until there is only one, which will be the case until Lilly Singh takes the place of Carson Daly late in the evening.
The last episode of Busy tonight will be released on May 16th.
