EA Access for PlayStation 4 coming in July

Electronic Arts is offering PlayStation 4, in July, its EA Access subscription service, which offers early access trials to new games and an existing library of games, in July, the publisher announced Tuesday.

EA Access for PS4 will cost $ 4.99 a month or $ 29.99 a year, at the same price as the existing EA Access service on Xbox One.

Currently, EA Access promises subscribers access to more than 50 games with Vault. This selection of games includes older and newer versions such as Star Wars Battlefront 2, Burnout Paradise remastered, Fe, The Sims 4, Battlefield 1and the latest EA Sports games from Madden, NBA and NHL. On Xbox One, EA Access also offers retro-compatible Xbox 360 games.

EA did not provide a list of compatible titles coming into the vault for PS4, but this list will likely be smaller than that available on Xbox One, since the PS4 does not support PlayStation 3 games by compatibility.

In addition to a library of older games, EA Access also offers what EA calls Play First Trials, which allows access to up to 10 hours of newer games. EA Access was launched for the first time on Xbox One in 2014. Since then, Electronic Arts has extended the PC subscription service with Origin Access and Origin Access Premier.

The availability of the subscription service on PS4 is a reversal for Sony. In 2014, the maker of PlayStation said they believe the service "does not bring the kind of value that its PlayStation customers expect now."

"We do not think asking our fans to pay an extra $ 5 a month for this EA-specific program is a good value for the PlayStation player," said a Sony representative at the time.
