Electronic Arts is creating a new Skateboard game and has established a new studio for the project, the company said on Wednesday. This studio, called Full Circle, is headquartered in Vancouver, but EA describes the team as global, with “a geo-diverse team and culture.”

Daniel McCulloch, former managing director of Xbox Live at Microsoft, is the development lead for the new Skateboard. McCulloch’s credits also include producer roles in the Forza Motorsports series and Microsoft’s Kinect games.

“Fans have wanted Skate to come back to existence and we want them to feel involved in the process from development to launch of the game and beyond. We want them to feel like part of Full Circle, ”McCulloch said in a press release. “We want to have fun and create great games that people want to play with their friends. And we’re looking for more developers to help us create compelling worlds for players to explore. “

Electronic Arts named Deran Chun and Chris “Cuz” Parry as the “creative leadership” of Skate, saying the duo had “been integral to the creation of the franchise and the development of the original three games.”

The Skate series was originally developed by EA’s Black Box studio in Vancouver. This team was merged with EA Canada and Black Box closed in 2013. Skate’s last game, Skating 3, was released in 2010. Since then, fans of the skateboard simulator series have been pestering EA for a sequel, bombarding the publisher with the hashtag # skate4 on social media until, in 2020, the company relented. finally and announced that a new Skateboard game was in development.

The new Skateboard – which better to be named Skating 4 – has no release date or announced platform.
