As promised, EA shared “a little something” related to its highly anticipated Skateboarding revival after announcing that there would be no news on the latest installment of its dormant skateboarding series during EA Play Live. this Thursday. Skateboard fans probably shouldn’t get too excited though; beyond confirming that the game is still in the works, there is little to see here.

Announced last June, the revival of EA’s Skate – the fourth game in the series and the first installment since Skate 3 in 2010 – is in the works by newly formed studio Full Circle, which includes the original creators of Skate. Deran Chung and Cuz Parry among its number.

Given that Full Circle didn’t officially see the light of day until early this year, work on the new Skate game isn’t surprisingly early on, and Chung said so in the new teaser video. from EA. “The truth is, it is still early days,” he explained. “We are still working on it.”

So it’s no surprise that the gameplay is nowhere to be found in the video, but we get a selection of gawps and gasps from various developers, skateboard stars, and YouTubers we’ve been told about. to have seen in-game footage. For everyone else, however, EA fills in the blanks with previews of the behind-the-scenes motion capture sessions and the odd wireframe.

So there isn’t much to get Skateboard fans to really get excited about – beyond reassuring that Part 4 is still in development – and the long, long wait continues for more substantial news. .

Along with Skate’s EA Play Live no-show, EA has confirmed that there will be no appearances of Dragon Age and Mass Effect, or any of its future Star Wars titles, during the 40-minute livestream this Thursday July 22 at 6 p.m. It’s probably safe to expect something from Apex Legends and Battlefield 2042, and Eurogamer will be reporting the event live.
