Electronic Arts has denied any alleged "blacklisting" of a critic who allegedly criticized Action Anthology prior to its launch on February 22, 2019.
A certain YouTuber named "GGGmanlives" claims to have been approached by EA to create a paid review of the title – and was later "blacklisted" because of his damning reflections on the game.
"This is perhaps the most disappointing game I played in 2019," said YouTuber about Anthem. "Sometimes he feels squeezed, badly thought out or simply unfinished in some cases."
GGGmanlives' video was later removed from the platform because some fans speculated about EA's dissatisfaction with the review.
However, EA states that they did not withdraw the review because of his comments, as indicated in a statement to the variety February 22nd.

EA denied that GGGmanlinves' review was withdrawn because of his negative comments on the title, but rather because he had not complied with the disclosure guidelines.
According to the company, the withdrawal was executed for non-compliance with the disclosure guidelines – although a comment by GGG under his video also states that he removed EA's watermark in the mail.
"In this case, the disclosure requirements for that specific video were not fulfilled … so we asked that they be removed and corrected," EA said on this subject. "We did not ask that the content of the video be changed, nor blacklisted the creator."

Anthem was the subject of mixed reviews when it was released on Feb. 22, scoring relatively low on the rating scales of many outlets.
Anthem has since met mixed reviews in many outlets, IGN giving it a 6.5 / 10, Metacritic, 61%, and PC World, 2.5 / 5.
