Eagle Rookie Report Card: JJ Arcega-Whiteside Flashes in a Quick Pre-Season Game

[ad_1]

Normally, we would deplore a game of football shortened by the elements, but an electrical storm ended at the end of the Eagles' third pre-season game on Thursday night. Despite a quick game against the Ravens, the Eagles had an encouraging glimpse of their 2019 rookie category.

André Dillard: B +

The Eagles 'first-round pick has continued its encouraging preseason in the Eagles' defeat against the Ravens. The Ravens are well known for their deep and talented defensive front and Dillard was impressive against all his opponents. Dillard fears a penalty, but otherwise, choosing the first round of the Eagles should make the team very excited.

Miles Sanders: N / A

It should be interesting that the Eagles have sought to keep Miles Sanders on the field for the third pre-season game. After an impressive performance last week, Sanders occupies an important position in the offensive this year and the team wants to keep it cool. Sanders appeared on some reps from goal back, which could suggest a special role in the team this season. Sanders returned 33 times in his first year of college, five in his second year and none when he was the departing Penn State. Her experience in special teams is there, even if she is far away. However, it is clear that the team thinks there will be an impact.

JJ Arcega Whiteside: A +, 4.0 GPA, Magna Cum Laude

JJ Arcega Whiteside has seen a lot of targets this pre-season but that's the game that he finally capitalized on opportunities. Arcega Whiteside made a beautiful touchdown where he traced a perfect course, precisely adjusted to the ball and offering a superb pass from Josh McCown. Arcega Whiteside also had an excellent game. He immediately knocked out a defender at the end of the match and made a huge game on the run. Arcega Whiteside will be incredibly hard to keep for the Eagles. even with Jeffery, Jackson and Agholor in front of him.

Shareef Miller: C-

Shareef Miller had a better preseason than advertised, but last night was just an average exit. Miller played football well, but his only highlight was almost to decapitate his ex-teammate when he grabbed Trace McSorley's face mask. Miller has a tough fight to make the team with a talented defensive lineup and the emergence of Daeshon Hall. Next week, it will be big for Miller to prove his place on the team.

Clayton Thorson: N / A

Clayton Thorson played so well last week that Thor himself decided to step in on behalf of the Ravens and avoid them a total embarrassment …

Ok, maybe not.

BUT, it's a bit pity we did not see Thorson play after he made promises last week. Anyway, hopefully the elements will allow Thorson to play next week. With Josh McCown in the group and well played, Thorson will have a harder time doing the alignment. However, considering that Cody Kessler is … well, like Cody Kessler, Thorson could have a good chance of taking his place in the final roster if the Eagles keep four quarters (which is not very likely).

T.J. Edwards: B

T.J. Edwards continues to play well and defend his place in the lineup. The Wisconsin UDFA played football on a regular basis last night, which you can ask a young linebacker. Given the relative leanness of the team at the post, Edwards is good at aligning his lineup.
